The Role of Parents in the Child's Academic Success and Upbring

Education is the bedrock of
development, the success of a child in school or anywhere is largely a product
of good parenting. The home as the first place of contact and school to a child
is where his lesson starts, his outlook and personality, values are better
nurtured and straightened. So as a parent you have to be a good example, be
what you want your child to grow up to be. Love, protect, nurture and guide. We
must be conscious of what we say, do, project, etc. as all these go into
determining what the child accepts as right and reasonable.

The battle to build a good
beginning for these children starts from home. The school is a social system
which provides planned activities meant to transit the cultural heritage of the
society, produce future leaders and change individual and society positively.

The parents must not only see
themselves as a father, mother or bread winner of the house but at the same
time as a friend, teacher and counselor. They should be interested in their
children's welfare and academic progress.

Parents should always check
their children school bags, know the type of friends they keep, assist in their
homework and even check their exercise books to know whether your child/ward
actually participate in class work.

Education is a responsibility

Train
up the child in the way he/she should go and when he/she is grown, will not
depart from it. Education is wealth embrace it.
